 EpiGaN demonstrates its 200mm capabilities
EpiGaN has demonstrated 200mm GaN on Si wafers with excellent characteristics and uniformity. The initial results were shown at CS Europe by dr. Marianne Germain, CEO. Further details are to be presented at WOCSDICE 2013.
(News item added on 2013-04-29) EpiGaN commisions two new reactors
EpiGaN has successfully commissioned two new MOCVD systems, able to operate
either in multiple 6” or in 8” configuration. It will use the systems to commercialize 6-inch GaN-on-Silicon
wafers for a range of power and RF electronics devices as well as to develop the
next generation of 200 mm GaN-on-Silicon wafers.
The reactors were installed and commissioned by AIXTRON Europe’s service support team at
the company’s purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility located in Research Campus Hasselt,

(News item added on 2012-05-22) EpiGaN opens its new production site
On May 21st 2012, EpiGaN has opened its new production site in the presence of Flemish Minister Mrs Ingrid Lieten and Limburg Governor Mr Herman
Reynders. The company selected the Research Campus Hasselt as the ideal location for the
volume production of their gallium nitride epitaxial material.

(News item added on 2012-05-22) HiPoSwitch project kicks off
EpiGaN is participating in the EU-FP7 project HiPoSwitch, aiming at the development of more compact and more powerful energy converters. The activities cover the whole value chain, from GaN-on-Si epiwafers over GaN power device development to industrial application.
EpiGaN is joining forces with Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut fuer Hoechst-frequenztechnik (FBH); Slovak Academy of Sciences, Institute of Electrical Engineering; Vienna University of Technology; University of Padua; AIXTRON SE; Artesyn Austria GmbH & Co. KG and Infineon Technologies Austria AG.
